About

About me … Denise Jelinek, M.S., ACSM …

… as your personal trainer:

As an ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine), AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America), and NBFE (National Board of Fitness Examiners) certified personal trainer, I have helped people of varying fitness levels, capabilities, and ages (7- to 80-year-olds) move toward greater wellness and achieve fitness goals.

Since, 1998, I have been personal training with the philosophy that fitness can not be measured in a mirror; rather it is about how our bodies work and feel.

Currently, I personal train at a club in suburban Chicago (for more information on my services, call 815.263.6216 or email me: denise@realizefitness.us)

… as your wellness coach:

In addition to personal training, I am also a certified wellness coach. Wellness coaches facilitate change by focusing on a client’s needs, values, vision, and goals and help bring out his/her personal best. My approach is grounded in meeting individuals at their level of readiness and progressing toward their dreams and goals.

… in the classroom:

My Master’s Degree is in Human Movement Sciences (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) and my Bachelor’s Degree from Western Illinois University is in Exercise Science.

… on the road:

In 2001, I completed my first (and so far, only) marathon and the summer of 2005 is remembered as my debut into triathlons (3 so far under my belt). From these experiences, I have developed a deep appreciation for all the body will do for us, especially how it adapts and strengthens as continued demands are placed upon it.
